Pulse Score: a term for reviewing life areas

5 min read

Definition

Pulse Score is a name used in explaining the Pulse Orbit approach. A numerical rating, if used, is a personal reflection rather than an objective measure of health. Habit marks, mood or goal entries do not justify an automatic clinical score from zero to one hundred.

What you can consider

You can reflect on several aspects of a life area yourself:

  • Activity — actions you recorded over a chosen period
  • Consistency — how often an action fitted your circumstances
  • Progress — movement towards your chosen goals
  • Mood — your own description of how the area feels
  • Change over time — what seems to be changing and why you think so

Using a life-area reflection

Use your reflection to ask which area you want to give attention to and what action is possible. Scores such as 85 and 40 do not establish an objective priority or a health diagnosis. You choose the next action; automatic corrective micro thrusts are not promised here.
