How to Use the Life Assessment

The Life Assessment tool offers a deep analysis of 12 key areas of your life. Unlike the Wheel of Life, each area is evaluated across three aspects, providing a more accurate and detailed picture.

Switch between areas using the buttons at the top. Each area has three questions — rate each from 1 to 10. Green highlighting means the area is fully rated. When all 12 areas are complete, click "Results" for a detailed analysis.

Results show your overall score, a ranking for each area with visual indicators, and highlight three growth areas (lowest scores) and three strengths (highest scores). Use growth areas as priorities for development in the coming months.

We recommend taking the assessment quarterly. Record your results to track trends. Focus on 1-2 growth areas at a time — trying to improve everything at once usually means nothing changes.

What Is Life Assessment

Life assessment is a structured self-analysis method that helps you understand how satisfied you are with various aspects of your life. The method is based on a holistic approach to well-being, which views a person as an integrated system where all areas are interconnected.

The concept of multidimensional life evaluation has roots in positive psychology. Martin Seligman proposed the PERMA model (Positive Emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, Achievement), which describes five components of flourishing. Our tool expands this model to include more specific areas.

Each of the 12 areas is assessed through three questions, allowing you to uncover nuances. For example, in "Career" you might discover that you enjoy your work but see no growth prospects. Or in "Finances" — current income covers expenses but there's no emergency fund. This detail provides actionable insights.

Research shows that people with high life satisfaction are characterized not by maximum scores in all areas but by relative balance. Even modest scores of 6-7 across all areas indicate a healthier state than 10 in work with 2 in relationships.

Why You Need Life Assessment

Regular life assessment serves several important functions. First, it increases self-awareness. In the daily rush, we rarely stop to ask ourselves: "How satisfied am I with my life?" A structured assessment forces reflection on every area.

Second, it reveals hidden problems. We often ignore certain areas until they become crises. Regular assessment allows you to notice declining satisfaction early and take preventive measures.

Third, the assessment motivates action. When you see a numerical expression of your dissatisfaction, it creates constructive tension — a gap between where you are and where you want to be. This gap is a powerful motivator for change.

Finally, it's a progress tracking tool. Comparing results over different periods, you see which areas improved and which need additional attention. This transforms abstract "improve my life" into a measurable process with concrete indicators.
